The Auto Success Executive Spotlight: Transforming Dealership Photography with EZ360’s Automated Studio

In this spotlight, Izzy Alpert, CEO of EZ360, highlights the game-changing benefits of automated photography for dealerships. He explains how turntables simplify vehicle imaging, enhance presentation, and meet the growing demand for high-quality visuals. Alpert also dives into the practical considerations of space requirements, making automated setups more accessible for dealerships of all sizes.

Auto Success: Let’s talk about turntables. How much space do you really need for something like that?

Izzy Alpert: “Great question! Turntables are a game-changer, especially when space is limited. To get the best photos, you typically need the camera about 17 feet from the center of the car. Of course, that can change a little depending on the size of the vehicle. Too close, and you get that distorted fisheye effect. Too far, and you lose the details.

The beauty of a turntable is that it saves space. You can tuck it into a corner, just three feet from one wall, and position the camera 17 feet away. Compare that to a walk-around setup, which needs 35 to 40 feet of open space—you’re saving a ton of room.”

Auto Success: That’s a big difference! But how much total space would you say is ideal?

Izzy Alpert: “If you’re setting up in a corner, about 20 feet on each side is enough. Most dealerships, though, are moving toward dedicated spaces, often with curtains for a polished look. For most cars, you’re good with a space that’s around 25 by 28 feet.”

Auto Success: Really? That doesn’t sound like much at all.

Izzy Alpert: “It’s not! With a turntable just three feet from one wall, you still have plenty of space to work. That said, if you’re photographing big trucks—like an F-350 crew cab with a long bed—you’ll want a little more breathing room.”

Auto Success: Oh yeah, those trucks are beasts.

Izzy Alpert: “Exactly. For those, I’d recommend a 30-by-30 or even 30-by-35-foot space. It makes it easier to maneuver and keeps everyone comfortable while working.

So, you’ve got options. If space is tight, a corner setup with 20 feet on each side works. For larger vehicles or more production flexibility, go for 30-by-30. And if all you’ve got is 25 feet? That still works too.”

Auto Success: It sounds like turntables make things a lot easier.

Izzy Alpert: “They really do. They save space, streamline the process, and deliver professional results without requiring a massive footprint. It’s a smart investment for any dealership looking to upgrade their photography game.”
